UPRA Boca de Lobo CHEM FEST – A Successful Kickoff to the 20th Anniversary Celebration!

🔬 Celebrating 20 Years of the Chemistry Festival
This event marked the beginning of the commemorative activities celebrating two decades of the renowned Chemistry Festival.
🤝 Organization & Coordination:
Led by Dr. Maeilla Ramos Fontán and the ACS-UPRA Student Chapter, in collaboration with the Department of Physics and Chemistry at UPRA.
🎓 Main Activities:
- Educational talks and live chemistry demonstrations.
- Guided tours of chemistry and photography laboratories.
- Display of the largest Periodic Table in the Caribbean.
📚 Highlighted Conferences:
- "Redox Reactions: The Magic of Everyday Life" – A fascinating talk by Prof. Mónica M. Medina Quintana, from the Department of Industrial Chemical Processes, exploring how redox reactions are essential in our daily lives.
- "Photography and Its Chemistry for Everyone" – Presented by Prof. Rosamary Berrios Hernández, from the Department of Tele-Radio Communication, demonstrating how chemistry enables the art of photography, bridging science and creativity.
