In October 2022, the Puerto Rico Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS-PR) hosted the 73rd Southeastern Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society (SERMACS) at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan. The "Chemistry Transcending Boundaries for a Sustainable Future" event attracted 1,683 registered participants and featured various symposia, workshops, and technical sessions. Notably, the Festival de Química at the Convention Center's Fountain Plaza engaged approximately 1,000 middle and high school students, supported by 200 volunteers. The success of SERMACS 2022 was a testament to the dedication of the ACS-PR organizing and scientific committees and the enthusiastic participation of attendees and volunteers.
