Dr. Liz Díaz, Chair-Elect of ACS Puerto Rico 2025, represented our section at the ACS LSAC Leadership Training, held in Houston, Texas, from January 31 to February 2, 2025. This key event in leadership development within the American Chemical Society community provided essential tools to strengthen our section’s impact on education, scientific outreach, and innovation in chemistry.
During this experience, Dr. Díaz presented the 2023 event on the Chemistry Careers Road Tour, an initiative launched by Dr. Ramonita Díaz, aimed at inspiring students and early-career professionals through interactive talks and immersive experiences about the many career opportunities in chemistry. This initiative has served as a bridge between academia, industry, and the community, facilitating access to key information on chemistry’s impact across various disciplines.
Additionally, Dr. Díaz participated in strategic leadership sessions, collaborated with colleagues from different regions, and solidified her vision for ACS-PR. Her commitment to the scientific community and professional development will continue driving key initiatives for the advancement of chemistry in Puerto Rico.
